Antoine Griezmann has hailed his understanding with strike partner Kevin Gameiro in the absence of Diego Costa for Atletico Madrid.
Gameiro netted the only goal of the game on Saturday as Diego Simeone’s secured a 1-0 victory at Eibar with the former Chelsea striker sitting out due to suspension.
“Me and Kevin play well together, we both like the combination,” Griezmann is quoted by Marca as telling reporters after the game.
“We have a strong understanding of each other’s style and what makes us play well and if we continue like this, it will be a massive benefit for the team.”
Gameiro was also quoted by the Madrid outlet as saying: “It’s always difficult to win at Eibar, but we played well and deserved the three points.
“We must try to maintain this level of performance and working in the same way – if we continue to win games then we will be in a strong position.”
