Barcelona have completed the signing of Colombian central defender Yerry Mina from Palmeiras in an €11.8m deal, it has been confirmed.
The two clubs had previously agreed a €9m deal for the 23-year-old to go through next summer, but Barca wished to advance this signing due to Javier Mascherano’s imminent departure.
The defender’s contract at the Camp Nou will run until June 2023 and his release clause at the club stands at a reported €100m.
Mina moved to Palmeiras from Sante Fe last year and won the Brazilian League in his first season, while making its Team of the Year.
He also has nine caps for Colombia, scoring three goals.
