Villarreal president Fernando Roig has stated Italian giants Napoli hold a long-standing interest in their midfielder Samu Castillejo.
The Naples-based club have been linked with a number of Spanish-based players in recent months including Barcelona duo Aleix Vidal and Gerard Deulofeu along with Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko.
“Napoli’s interest has always been concrete and direct,” Roig told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The Azzurri have been following him for two years. We’ve not had any contact recently, but things can change at any moment in the market. Never say never.”
The 22-year-old joined the Yellow Submarine from La Liga rivals Malaga in 2015 and has made 18 appearances this season, scoring one goals and assisting four.
