Mir: Valencia rejected 4 Madrid offers

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir insists Valencia rejected several approaches from Real Madrid before he moved to Molineux this month.

The 20-year-old has hit 15 goals in just 19 League appearances for Los Che’s B team this season and had been tipped for a move to Madrid’s Castilla side before his switch to England.

“I knew there were four offers from Real Madrid for me but these were rejected,” Mir told Cadena Ser in Valencia, as quoted by Plaza Deportiva.

“The first offer from Wolves was accepted straight away because Valencia did not want me to join Madrid.

“They (Valencia) made me an offer to extend my contract in the summer, it is true, but it is a lie to say they spent a year trying to renew my deal.

“I wanted to join an ambitious project and a club which placed trust in me as I did not see that at Valencia.”
