Jese close to Las Palmas return

Las Palmas are closing in on a deal for Jese Rodriguez, who is reportedly close to terminating his loan deal at Stoke City from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old has featured only nine times for the struggling English club this campaign and was fined for leaving the substitute’s bench early against Tottenham Hotspur last month.

However, his stint with the Potters was affected by the premature birth of his son, which has not been without complications and could be directly linked to his failure to settle in the Premier League.

Marca now report he is ‘very close’ to returning to boyhood club Los Amarillos, with Coach Paco Jemez and president Miguel Angel Ramirez both keen on a deal.

Jese scored three goals in 16 appearances for his hometown club in a loan stint in the second half of last season, and he could replace Vitolo – who has now joined Atletico Madrid – in the squad.
