Diego Costa has revelled in ‘feeling like a footballer again’ after making his first appearance for eight months on Wednesday night.
The Atletico Madrid striker scored on his second debut for the club as Diego Simeone’s men ran out comfortable 4-0 victors at Lleida in the Copa Del Rey.
“Now I am very happy because I feel like a footballer again,” Costa told reporters, as quoted by Marca.
“It is great for me to play for Atletico Madrid again, the club are very important to me and I am very happy with this.
“I could not have asked for anything more on my second debut, to be back playing again and to have scored a goal is fantastic.”
The 29-year-old had not played a competitive match since the FA Cup final for Chelsea in May last year, while his last game for Los Rojiblancos came in May 2014.
