Copa: Montella, Costa win on debuts

Vincenzo Montella got off to a winning start as Sevilla Coach as his side recorded a 2-0 victory at high-flying La Liga 123 side Cadiz.

Goals from former Manchester City pair Nolito and Jesus Navas were enough for Los Rojiblancos in the Andalucian derby, with Sevilla playing city neighbours Real Betis on Saturday.

Diego Costa scored for Atletico Madrid just five minutes into his return to the club after three-and-a-half years as the club cruised to a 4-0 win at Lleida.

The former Chelsea striker came on as a 64th-minute substitute and swept home Atletico's third goal in the 69th minute and despite concerns over an injury, finished the game.

Goals from Fernando Torres and Diego Godin had put the visitors in control before Antoine Griezmann completed the rout with a late fourth.

Elsewhere, two goals from Ermedin Demirovic helped propel Alaves to a comfortable win at third tier Formentera while a late equaliser from Rodrigo earned Valencia a draw at Las Palmas after Jonathan Calleri’s early strike.
