Barca make fresh Mina offer

Barcelona have made a fresh bid for Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina to advance his summer move to January, the Brazilian club have said.

Palmeiras sporting director Alexandre Mattos confirmed the club have received a fresh offer for the Colombian international.

The two clubs had reportedly previously agreed a €9m deal for the 23-year-old to go through next summer, but Barca want to advance this signing due to Javier Mascherano’s imminent departure.

“Barcelona have made another offer for Mina but equally, we do not want him to leave the club,” Mattos is quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.

“We are going to wait for their delegation to arrive in Sao Paulo to discuss the situation further and if, but only if, we are satisfied with the new bid, we will allow him to move. Otherwise, he will remain a Palmeiras player.”

Mina moved to Palmeiras from Sante Fe last year and won the Brazilian League in his first season, while making its Team of the Year.

He also has nine caps for Colombia, scoring three goals.
