Porto defender Ivan Marcano, who is out of contract this summer, has emerged as a transfer target for La Liga highfliers Valencia, say reports in Spain.
The 30-year-old’s contract at Estadio do Dragao expires in June 2018 and he is now free to talk to other clubs ahead of his availability as a free agent.
A report in Marca now suggests the left-footed central defender fits into Los Che’s future plans and they are keen to arrange a deal ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Santander-native spent the first three seasons of his career in La Liga, making 81 top flight appearances for Racing Santander, Villarreal and Getafe before having stints with Olympiakos and Rubin Kazan.
Marcano then moved to Porto in 2014 and despite becoming a regular in Os Dragoes’ defence, making 109 first-team appearances, but is now said to be open to a return to Spain.
