Barca squad set for 2018 revamp

Barcelona’s squad is set to undergo mass reconstruction in 2018 with five players set to leave the club and Leon Goretzka reportedly heading the arrivals.

Friday’s front pages of the two main Catalan sport newspapers – El Mundo Deportivo and Diario Sport – outline the club’s transfer plans across the next two transfer windows.

Sport report Rafinha Alcantara’s loan move to Celta Vigo in January will lead the exits while Gerard Deulofeu is also set to leave, with heavy interest from Inter.

Aleix Vidal – reportedly wanted by Sevilla, Inter, Valencia and Atletico Madrid – will also be moved on, with Arda Turan also to go and Javier Mascherano set to move to Hebei China Fortune in January.

Goretzka – a German international with Schalke – is out of contract in June and could be brought in for a cut-price fee in January, and is Barca’s number one midfield target according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Gremio midfielder Arthur and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar are also reported targets.
