Caparros resigns at Al Ahli

Experienced Spanish Coach Joaquin Caparros has resigned from his position at Qatari club Al Ahli after less than six months, it has been confirmed.

The 62-year-old joined the Middle Eastern club in June of this year but confirmed his decision to the club on Wednesday afternoon with a return to Spain expected.

He has managed 13 clubs across Spanish football with his most famous stint a five-year spell at Sevilla between 2000 and 2005, with early rumours he could take the vacant hot seat at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.

Most recently, Caparros managed Osasuna between November and January last season but his side only won once in his eight matches in charge.
