Barcelona forward Jose Arnaiz is a January transfer target for Arsenal who are willing to trigger his €20m release clause, say reports in Spain.
The 22-year-old only signed for the Catalan giants earlier this year when they signed him from La Liga 123 outfit Real Valladolid in a €3.4m deal.
The striker has only played two matches for Barca this season – both in the Copa del Rey against Real Murcia – and netting two goals in performances which were widely heralded.
Arnaiz has hit six goals in 18 appearances for Barcelona B in Spain’s second tier this campaign and Marca reports Arsenal are now willing to make a move for the striker.
Attacking duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are both out of contract in June with attacking reinforcements due to arrive over the coming months.
Arnaiz is thought to be open to a move which would likely see him gain more first-team football, while Cesc Fabregas, Nacho Monreal and Santi Cazorla are Spaniards who have excelled at the Emirates Stadium in recent years.
