Julen Lopetegui believes Spain have been dealt “a complicated, difficult and tough” World Cup group after they were drawn with Portugal, Morocco and Iran.
Spain face European champions Portugal in Group B of next summer’s showpiece in Russia, but Lopetegui made it clear Morocco and Iran were also capable of causing La Roja problems.
“It’s a complicated, difficult and tough group, although it couldn’t be any other way at a World Cup,” the Coach told Cuatro.
“Portugal are a great team, who recently won [Euro 2016], but Morocco qualified by eliminating Ivory Coast and are a consolidated team, while Iran didn’t concede a goal in qualifying and therefore will ask a lot of us.”
