Spain have been drawn with Portugal, Iran and Morocco in Group B of next summer’s World Cup finals in Russia in Friday’s draw.
Julen Lopetegui’s side were always going to have a challenging draw due to being in Pot 2 of the draw, with European champions Portugal the top seeds in their group.
Iran and Morocco complete a group where La Roja and their Iberian neighbours will be favourites to progress from.
Spain will play Portugal in Sochi on June 15 in their first game and then take on Iran five days later in Kazan before completing the group against Morocco in Kalingrad on June 25.
