Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane believes Kepa Arrizabalaga is a ‘very good goalkeeper’ but ‘is not my goalkeeper’ amid reports of a January move.

The Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper’s contract at San Mames expires in June 2018 with Marca this week reporting Madrid are willing to pay €20m to sign the Spanish international in January.

“I have always had the pleasure of working with the best goalkeepers and in my opinion, Keylor is the best,” Zidane told reports on Friday, as quoted by Marca.

“I will always support and never doubt the goalkeepers at the club including Keylor, Kiko (Casilla) and the others.

“Kepa is a very good goalkeeper, but he is not my goalkeeper.”

Madrid face the Basque giants on Saturday – although Kepa is thought to miss the game through injury – while Gareth Bale is also set to miss the game with a calf problem.

“Bale’s injury is a nuisance but it is not serious,” Zidane continued.

“It’s a problem in his calf but we are not expecting a long layoff, he is an important player for us.”
