Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone has given his backing to the introduction of VAR technology, which Spanish football is ‘calling out for’.
The Argentine added his voice to the calls for the goal line system following Sunday’s controversial Lionel Messi ‘ghost goal’ at Valencia.
“I believe we are calling out for this 'hawk-eye' technology,” Simeone told reporters, as quoted by Diario AS.
“It would clarify many situations and give assistance to officials.”
The Atleti tactician also discussed Antoine Griezmann, who netted twice in Saturday’s 5-0 win at Levante after being paired with Kevin Gameiro.
“Griezmann's is always important to us but this is especially true when Gameiro is in such a good moment, bringing speed into our attack,” Simeone continued.
“Maybe he (Griezmann) does not feel so comfortable with (Angel) Correa, as there is no focal point up front. Sometimes you must wait, as there are things we do not yet have.”
