Real Madrid monitor David Luiz

Chelsea defender David Luiz could be sold by the club for a second time with reports on Wednesday suggesting Real Madrid could be his next destination.

Reports across the British press, led by the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail, report the Spanish and European champions have been ‘alerted’ by a supposed fallout between the Brazilian and Antonio Conte.

The central defender’s relationship with the Italian manager has reportedly been damaged following his reaction to being substituted off against Roma and he has subsequently been dropped and trained alone.

The 30-year-old is not thought to feature for Chelsea against Swansea City on Wednesday night as the speculation increases over a possible January move.

Real Madrid are reasonably well stocked in the centre of defence after Jesus Vallejo returned to the club to replace the outgoing Pepe.

However, an injury to Dani Carvajal – coupled with the sale of Danilo – has left them short at right-back, with Nacho Fernandez and Sergio Ramos having to fill in on occasion.
