Watford defender Kiko Femenia has drawn comparisons between his current team and the success he enjoyed at Alaves last season.
The full-back helped the Basque club to a top half finish last season alongside a Copa Del Rey final and has played in 12 of Watford’s 13 Premier League matches to date.
“This Watford team feel like my Alaves,” Femenia told an interview with Marca.
“It’s a similar style of approaching each game, the desire to win and to upset more established opponents.
“Every game we play here we try to win and whilst last season at Alaves was fantastic, I wanted to take the step to the Premier League and I want to thank Alaves for giving me that opportunity as I was without a team.
“Watford are on the up and our intention is to attempt and stay among the leading pack of clubs, as playing in this division has been my dream since I was very little.
“I have settled into the club well and adapted quickly but this team is diverse with many languages and different backgrounds, which has helped me.”
