Brazilian defender Douglas could return to Barcelona in January as Benfica want to cut short his loan spell, according to reports.
The full-back joined the Portuguese champions on a season-long loan deal in August but is yet to feature in the league for the Lisbon-based club.
A report in O Jogo states the club are now in search of a new right-back for the January window and will cut short the defender’s loan spell.
The 27-year-old surprisingly joined the Catalans from Sao Paulo in 2014 and played just eight times for the first team without defeat.
He spent last season on loan at Sporting Gijon but could not prevent the side's relegation to the second tier in his 21 appearances.
