Garitano ‘very happy’ with Leganes start

Leganes boss Asier Garitano is ‘very happy’ with the club gathering 17 points from their opening 12 matches of La Liga this season.

Garitano was speaking ahead of his side’s Friday night trip to Celta Vigo – their first return to Balaidos since winning 1-0 in their first ever match in Spain’s top flight.

“That victory and the goal from Victor Díaz is a beautiful memory for all of us,” explained the Leganes Coach, as quoted by Marca.

“But we cannot think about that anymore and now we are both very different teams  from when we debuted there and are in a different moment.

“This is a really important match for us as we have lost our last three matches and now we must bounce back against a very tough opponent.

“All of our defeats have come against top teams in the division, not once have we underperformed or should we blame ourselves for those games.

“I am very happy with the 17 points we have, and now we must build on it.”

Lega sit in 8th position in La Liga, while Celta Vigo sit five positions and three points further back.
