Napoli want to sign Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko but are unwilling to match the €20m asking price for the Croatian.
A report in Il Mattino states the Italian league leaders are prepared to pay up to €14m for the full-back, who formerly played in Serie A for Genoa and Sassuolo.
The future of the 25-year-old remains uncertain and the Madrid-based club may only sanction a sale if they can reinforce their defence in January, when their player registration ban is lifted.
Vrsaljko has only started 13 La Liga matches since joining Los Rojiblancos last summer from Sassuolo, with Juanfran preferred in the right-back slot.
