Malaga are eyeing up a January move for out-of-favour Swansea City midfielder Roque Mesa, according to reports in Spain.

The deep-lying midfielder only joined the Premier League club this summer in a €12.5m deal from Las Palmas, but he has featured in only three top flight matches so far this campaign.

Diario AS now report struggling Malaga are considering an approach for the 28-year-old, with Coach Michel already admitting the club are hopeful of signing a midfield ‘pivot’ in January.

The report finalises with the strong relationship between the two clubs following Borja Baston’s summer loan move from the Liberty Stadium.
