‘Casillas could make World Cup’

Porto Coach Sergio Conceicao believes Iker Casillas could form part of Spain’s squad for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper has lost his place in the starting line-up of the Portuguese giants to Jose Sa, amidst rumours he could be on his way out of the club.

However, Conceicao has played down these reports and also responded to Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, who had labelled him as ‘Jose Mourinho’s first cousin’ earlier this month.

“When Iker returns to our team, I believe Julen Lopetegui will notice this,” Conceicao said, as quoted by Marca.

“He has the skill and ability to be in his national team squad, so why not?

“Sergio Ramos? I won’t say what I think about it him, as it’s not worth it. I won’t respond publicly to comments of others.”

Spain Coach Lopetegui was formerly in charge of Porto.
