Wilshere open to Betis move?

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could be set to turn down a number of English clubs to join Real Betis, according to reports.

The 25-year-old’s deal at the Emirates Stadium expires in June 2018 and numerous reports in the English media suggest he will seek to leave the North London club for pastures new.

Despite speculation linking him to Manchester City and Chelsea, the Seville-based club have emerged as strong contenders for his signature.

Indeed, a report in The Sun states Los Verdiblancos “believe they are close to pulling off a coup by convincing him to move to Spain”.

It states that a cut-price deal could be struck in January, with the Gunners preferring the midfielder to move abroad rather than to a direct rival should he not agree upon a new deal.

The report concludes that Betis have made contact with the England international, who is open to a move to Estadio Benito Villamarin.
