Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal is set to return to action for the first time since September in the Madrid derby with Atletico.
The Spanish international had pericarditis – a viral infection affecting the membrane enclosing his heart, which is incredibly rare and difficult to treat.
Marca and Diario AS both report the 25-year-old will return to Zinedine Zidane’s line-up for Saturday’s trip to the Wanda Metropolitano – the first time Los Blancos have played in the stadium.
Carvajal’s place in the Madrid line-up was taken by Morocco international Achraf Hakimi, 18, while the Spain international recently signed a new deal at the club until June 2022.
