Messi: I want to retire in Argentina

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has reiterated his desire to end his career at his boyhood club Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina.

The 30-year-old, whose contract at the Camp Nou expires next June and has yet to be renewed, wants to once more play for the Rosario-based club where he spent six years of his youth career.

“I would love to play for Newell's Old Boys, in the stadium where I've seen so many matches,” Messi told Argentine outlet TyC Sports.

“I don't know what's going to happen in future years from now and how I'm going to feel. Right now, I am living from day to day and I'm not focused on the future.”

Messi moved to Catalonia in 2001 as a 13-year-old and risen to stardom at the Blaugrana.
