Aguero wants Independiente return

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has dismissed any talk of a move to Real Madrid and insists he wants to join Independiente in 2019.

The Argentine striker – who has recently become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer – has admitted he will leave City when his contract expires in 2019 to join his former club in his home nation.

“It was reported Milan and Real Madrid wanted me but it’s not true,” Aguero told TyC Sports, as cited by Diario Sport.

“I can’t remember where I read that but I thought ‘they just spoiled Independiente’s dream’ as my idea is always to return to the club in 2019, when my City deal runs out.

“I do have the option of another year in England with City and they are currently my priority but it’s definitely an option for me and my idea is to return, for sure.

“We are enjoying a good season and we have high aspirations, but it won’t be easy.”
