Marcelino: No Valencia euphoria

Marcelino insists Valencia aren’t celebrating despite going in to the international break in second place.

Los Che beat Leganes 3-0 to keep tabs on leaders Barcelona but the Coach insists there’s still room for improvement even as his team flies high.

“I add a ‘but’ in every game, because I think we always have to improve in some facets. There’s realism and constant analysis of what has brought us here in the locker room. There’s no euphoria. We know it is difficult to maintain this,” Marcelino said, AS reports.

“Well, maintaining this is impossible. Not losing any game in 38 is impossible. But let’s enjoy the moment, the attitude, the points we have, the constant support that exists between everyone. We won’t reflect this week, we’ll rest and from next week we’ll prepare for Espanyol.”

Marcelino was also asked about Simone Zaza, who was substituted and made clear his unhappiness with the decision.

“Simo wants to play the 90 minutes and he gets angry. He’s a good lad. We all do things, but the important thing is what his heart says, the relationship, and his is magnificent,” Marcelino replied.

“He’s integrated and we are happy with his attitude and with his behaviour.”
