Luca Zidane undergoes shoulder surgery

Real Madrid’s third-choice goalkeeper Luca Zidane – son of Zinedine – has undergone shoulder surger and faces a lengthy absence.

The 19-year-old is behind Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla in the pecking order at the Bernabeu after being promoted to the club’s squad from the club’s Castilla side.

The France youth international’s injury comes at an unfortunate time due to Navas also being sidelined for Los Blancos currently.

“Luca Zidane has been operated on for a Hill-Sachs fracture on his right shoulder,” read a Real Madrid statement.

“The operation was performed at the Jean Mermoz Hospital in Lyon by Dr. Gilles Walch, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services. Pending evolution.”

17-year-old goalkeeper Moha Ramos is in Madrid’s squad alongside Casilla for Wednesday’s trip to Tottenham.
