Gerard Deulofeu is hopeful of earning more game time for Barcelona and confessed it was always his ‘dream’ to be in the first-team squad.
The 23-year-old has netted two goals for the Blaugrana in eight starts since returning to the club from Everton in a €12m deal this summer and could earn more playing time due to Ousmane Dembele’s injury.
“For me this is only the beginning,” Deulofeu told a news conference ahead of the match at Olympiakos.
“I believe I am in good form and now I’m feeling more comfortable and settled in again in the last few matches I’ve played.
“It’s an important time for me as my dream is to be a success at this club and to be playing here for many years.
“I’m hopeful of playing more first-team football and showing to the fans what I can do.
“Saturday was a fantastic result and it puts us in a good early position, but is only early. The important thing is we are high on confidence while our rivals are dropping points.”
