Andres Iniesta will miss Barcelona’s games with Olympiakos and Sevilla this week due to his left thigh injury, according to reports in Spain.
The 33-year-old missed the Blaugrana’s trip to the San Mames against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday with the injury, which is set to rule him out for the rest of the week, say multiple reports.
Gerard Pique will also be unavailable for Barca’s midweek trip to Greece due to the red card he picked up in the reverse fixture at the Camp Nou a fortnight ago.
The Spain international’s absence and Javier Mascherano’s reported illness means Thomas Vermaelen could partner Samuel Umtiti for the Champions League tie.
In other news, Lionel Messi is said to be fit despite appearing to pick up a knock in Saturday’s victory over the Basques.
