Deportivo La Coruna full-back Juanfran has described the ‘worst day of my life’ after being sent-off against Las Palmas on Thursday.
The 29-year-old was sent off in the 24th minute for two bookable offences, by which point Depor were already two goals down in a match they went on to lose 4-1.
“This is the worst day of my life,” Juanfran is quoted as saying by Marca.
“My family – wife, daughters and parents – were in the stands and it is not right that you should be sent off for this.
“The referee was wrong and his mistake is that he wanted to be the star, he has messed up my life.”
Formerly of Getafe, Real Madrid and Real Betis, the right-sided player has started all ten of Depor’s matches this season but will now be suspended for Monday’s league clash against Los Amarillos.
