Juanfran Moreno insists Deportivo La Coruna miss Lucas Perez more than Celta Vigo do Nolito as the former “is a better player”.
Speaking at a Press conference ahead of Sunday’s Galician derby between Depor and Celta, Juanfran attempted to stoke fires in its build-up by claiming Arsenal got a better player in Lucas than Manchester City did in Nolito.
“Celta are doing fine, they’ve taken less points because they’re in European competition and it’s not easy to play so many games,” suggested the full-back.
“I think they’ve felt it a little and they’ve also lost Nolito, but Deportivo have lost Lucas, who’s a better player than Nolito.
“The derby is the first thing that [the fans] ask you about and, as a footballer, you want to win, even if you wasn’t born here.
“Three points and pride are at stake, and pride is very important for a player. Win and the fans in the street are happy and like you.
“And in the table, it gives us an incentive for the game that we have next against Valencia.”
