Ronaldo crowned best player by FIFA

Cristiano Ronaldo has been crowned as FIFA’s Male Player of the Year for the second successive season ahead of Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The Portuguese superstar successfully defended his title as Best Player after his Coach Zinedine Zidane was named Best Coach after leading Los Blancos to a La Liga and Champions League ‘double’.

Ronaldo won the first ever edition of The Best last year after seeing off Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

“It has been an extraordinary year, I never thought that I would win so many titles.

“I have 11 years up to this stage. Many thanks to all my fellow Real Madrid and the selection of Portugal.

“Thanks to my teammates, my president, my club, my fans. Thank you to Messi and Neymar for being here."

In the calendar year, the 32-year-old has played 48 matches for club and country, scoring 44 goals and winning four trophies.
