Varane: ZZ a future France boss

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane believes the club’s Coach Zinedine Zidane would be a worthy appointment for France in the future.

The 24-year-old defender praised the work current Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps and his predecessor Laurent Blanc, believing their former French international teammate could one day follow them.

“They’re all former France players who enjoyed great successes during their careers,” Varane is quoted as saying by Foot Mercato.

“They all won a lot with the team and are experienced, they all have the tranquillity and calmness needed for big matches.

“Could Zidane manage France? I don’t see why he couldn’t as he is a fantastic leader both on and off the pitch.”

All three managers won the 1998 World Cup with France alongside the European Championships two years later during distinguished playing careers.
