Barca & Uruguay in Suarez feud?

Barcelona and Uruguay are reportedly at loggerheads over how Luis Suarez should recover from his knee injury.

Barca wanted Suarez to undergo surgery to remove a meniscal cyst from his right knee in November, but AS reports Uruguay believe it can be cured with treatment.

“If he feels discomfort then decisions will be made, but for now [surgery] isn’t needed,” Celeste team doctor Alberto Pan told Radio Universal de Montevideo.

“A meniscal cyst is a pathology that causes suffering when it is not treated, but it is usually allowed to develop so the degree of tolerance can be determined.

“After that, he can undergo the relevant therapeutic procedures.”

The striker has been called up for Uruguay’s final World Cup qualifier against Bolivia, with qualification already all-but-secured thanks to a goal-difference swing of +9 on fifth-placed Peru.
