Andres Iniesta believes his side’s win away at Sporting CP on Wednesday was more important than their performance.
The Blaugrana edged out the Lisbon-based side thanks to a Sebastian Coates own goal to ensure Ernesto Valverde’s side won their eighth match in succession.
“In the Champions League every match is difficult, especially away from home,” Iniesta told his post-match press conference.
“Sporting are a strong team, they have many excellent players who combine very well together and to go there and win three points leaves us top and very satisfied.
“We are trying to do everything Ernesto (Valverde) asks of us, we are trying to understand his way of working but things are going well.
“The important thing is to work well and gain confidence, from that situation the team will grow.”
