Eden Hazard believes Chelsea ‘deserved’ their 2-1 victory at Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night after coming from a goal down to triumph.
The Belgian set up Alvaro Morata’s opening headed goal following Antoine Griezmann’s penalty for the hosts, with Michy Batshuayi netting a 93rd minute winner.
“We are very happy. It was a tough game against one of the biggest teams in Europe. We deserved to win the game,” Hazard told BT Sport after the match.
“We are playing very well. We have quality in the team and we want to win every game. It was not easy today but we did it.
“Atletico Madrid defend well and both teams are strong at blocking the attackers.
“He scores every time he gets on the pitch, he is a top scorer so I am very happy for him. Alvaro Morata too.”
