Denis Suarez has hailed the impact of teammate Paulinho at Barcelona and he has ‘shut the mouths’ of his critics.
Citing the timing of his arrival in the wake of Neymar’s exit from the club, Suarez praised the Brazilian midfielder’s impact at both ends of the pitch.
“Paulinho has been unfairly criticised,” Suarez told an interview with RAC1.
“It was all because of the exact moment he arrived, which was just after Neymar left but anyone who has watched the Brazil national team knows how good he is.
“He did not need to shut any mouths but he has done, he has proven by all measures the importance he has and can bring to this team.
“He has great physical presence and his strength is beneficial both in defence and attack – such as those runs into the box, which we saw against Getafe.
“At both ends for set plays he’s incredible…an animal.”
