Casemiro believes Real Madrid ‘needed’ Cristiano Ronaldo to return after back-to-back draws in La Liga fixtures.
The Portuguese star missed Madrid’s home stalemates against Valencia and Levante due to suspension but returned for Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Apoel Nicosia, scoring twice.
“We always needed Cristiano to come back…we always need him,” Casemiro told reporters in the mixed zone after the match.
“Of course we have other players when Cristiano can’t be with us but we always count on him because of his level and his talent.
“We had drawn to matches and against Apoel we needed more confidence, to start winning again and we did our homework.”
