Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey admitted his side ‘tried everything’ to find the net against Roma but ‘it wasn’t to be’.
Diego Simeone’s side were frustrated in Rome; despite dominating possession and enjoying the lion’s share of opportunities, they could not find a breakthrough and the match ended scoreless.
“We tried everything, we had a great game,” the Ghanian midfielder explained after the game.
“But with the bad luck of not scoring. We have no choice but to keep going but it wasn’t to be.
“Playing well on a personal level? The important thing is the team, the personal aspect comes after.
“We tried and did everything possible, but it’s not an easy place to play. We tried to hold them back but we couldn’t.
“Now it’s time to think about the next match. We have to keep going. A point away from home is good for us.”
