Andres Iniesta says “we’re all better off if the team work well” after Barcelona’s 3-0 win against Juventus but warns “there’s no news” about his renewal.
Iniesta was praised for pulling the strings in Barca’s midfield on Tuesday, but the 33-year-old made it clear he was happier about his team winning as a “collective”.
“If the team work well, we’re all better off. I’m happy on a personal and collective level,” he said after the game.
“It’s always complicated to start by beating a team like Juve. We controlled the match well.
“They had very few chances and we had a very good game. Renewal? There’s no news. If there was, you’d have known.
“What worries me is what happens on the pitch. I want to be happy and that things go well.
“I favour the collective over the personal, and I’m happy about how it all went.
“I dropped off a bit last season due to an injury, which is what halts your rhythm.”
