French league blasts ‘undignified’ Tebas

The French football league have hit out at ‘undignified’ comments by La Liga president Javier Tebas in relation to Paris Saint-Germain.

The chief of La Liga made comments at the Soccerex event on Wednesday stating the Parisian club were ‘pissing in the pool’ of football by ‘financial doping’, following on from their signing of Neymar from Barcelona.

“Our league strongly condemns the insulting comments regarding PSG made today by the president of La Liga, Mr Javier Tebas,” read the statement.

“These undignified comments do not live up to the standards of an institution as respectable and high-performing as the Spanish league.

“There has been a campaign of negative publicity by certain big European football clubs over the last few weeks.”

The statement follows on from Manchester City’s owners stating they were considering legal action against Tebas in the wake of comments relating to their club.
