David De Gea has admitted it is ‘a dream’ to be playing for Manchester United amid lingering speculation he could one day join Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu after a summer 2015 move collapsed at the eleventh hour but the Spain international, who is yet to concede a goal this season, pledged his allegiance to Jose Mourinho’s side.
“When you get older, you start to dream about being there, about being at a top team,” De Gea told an interview with MUTV.
“Of course it’s a dream to be at a team like Manchester United and you feel really proud when people think this (one of the world’s best goalkeepers) about you.
“It’s really good, but I like to keep my focus, keep working hard and doing my best. To be fair, when you are really young, you don’t think about the future too much, you just want to play with your friends.”
