Joel Campbell has called Real Betis his ‘home’ and explained how he always wanted to return to the club since his loan spell in 2012-13.
The Costa Rican forward has signed a season-long loan deal at Los Verdiblancos from Arsenal, becoming the tenth arrival of the summer at the Seville-based club.
“When I left five years ago always thought of return,” Campbell told his introductory press conference.
“It’s really exciting to return to the stadium, and when I found out about the interest I told my agent to ensure the deal was done – it feels like I’m coming home.
“There have been a number of new faces into the side this summer and it is exciting for everyone, the club has grown since I was last here.
“In football you never know where you will be from one season to the next and the important thing is to enjoy your football and continue to grow as a footballer.”
