Barcelona are preparing a deadline day bid for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil – whose contract expires next summer – say reports in Spain.
Cadena Cope say the Blaugrana are lining up a €58m (£55m) bid to test the resolve of the North London side for the German international.
The report suggests the Catalan giants are getting ‘desperate’ to land at least one signing after being frustrated in their attempts to sign Philippe Coutinho and Angel Di Maria.
The Gunners sold duo Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who’s contract expire next summer while they loaned out attacking duo Lucas Perez and Joel Campbell to Deportivo La Coruna and Real Betis respectively.
However, the English club held onto former Barca forward Alexis Sanchez in the wake of bids from Manchester City and would be reluctant to let Ozil, formerly of Real Madrid, leave without a replacement.
