Barcelona have officially sent right-back Douglas to Portuguese champions Benfica on a season-long loan.
A statement on Barca's website confirms Douglas' switch does not include an option to buy.
The 27-year-old surprisingly joined the Catalans from Sao Paulo in 2014 and played just eight times for the first team without defeat.
He spent last season on loan at Sporting Gijon but could not prevent the side's relegation to the second tier in his 21 appearances.
