Joao Cancelo has confirmed his departure from Valencia to join Inter but will ‘always support Valencia’ and has called the city his ‘home’.
The 23-year-old – who had been linked to Juventus, Tottenham and Chelsea – is joining the Nerazzurri on a reported one-year loan deal with a €32m option to buy at the end of the season.
“I leave the club as a better player and a better person,” Cancelo is quoted as saying by Superdeporte.
“Valencia was always my home and I would have stayed here forever but things have changed and from now on I will be another fan: I will always support Valencia!”
Signed from Benfica in 2015 for €15m, Cancelo made 74 La Liga appearances for Los Che and netted three international goals in four appearances.
