Sevilla Coach Eduardo Berizzo has reiterated his club’s desire to keep Steven N’Zonzi beyond the current transfer window.
The French midfielder has been linked with a summer move to Italian champions Juventus with Los Rojiblancos concerned his €40m release clause may be triggered.
“I think he knows the situation with us and there is no need for me as the Coach to state it,” Berizzo responded when asked about the midfielder’s future by BeIn Sports.
“He is a fantastic player with great physical attributes…for any Coach, he would be a key player and I hope we can count on him after the end of August.”
N’Zonzi, formerly of Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, played the full 90 minutes as the Andalucians completed a 2-1 away victory at Istanbul Basaksehir in Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier.
