Atleti in no rush over Costa

Atletico Madrid are in no hurry to complete their signing of Chelsea striker Diego Costa, with the two club’s valuation still some way apart, say reports in Spain.

Cadena Ser radio programme El Larguero reported on Monday night that Atleti are prepared to pay €38m for the Spain international while the English champions are holding out for €65m.

Due to the player registration ban imposed on Los Rojiblancos until January, they have no urgency in paying significantly more for the striker at this point in time and are prepared to wait.

The Spain international said in a recent interview that he is being treated ‘like a criminal’ at Stamford Bridge and his only desire is to re-join Atletico Madrid, whom he left for England in 2014.
